The Power of Patience was founded on a simple belief: growth takes time, trust, and understanding. What began as a training and rehabilitation program dedicated to the thoughtful development of sport horses has evolved into a place where both horses and people can connect, heal, and thrive.
At the heart of our mission is the belief that patience, paired with kindness, structure, healthy boundaries, and compassion, creates an environment where trust can be established and emotional safety is available to all. Through meaningful partnerships with horses, dedicated volunteers, and a caring community, we help individuals with autism and special needs build confidence, connection, independence, and joy while experiencing the unique bond that exists between horses and people. Our work is grounded in the understanding that when individuals feel safe, supported, and understood, they are empowered to grow, learn, and reach their fullest potential.

Origi Van HD
Origi was sent to us a year and a half ago. He was stopping at jumps and bolting with his rider. We evaluated him and discovered he had a very serious case of EPM which is a parasite that eats away at the nervous system. Continue reading.

Lest Best
Lester came to us in Jan 2024. He had a lot of anxiety and was explosive at times. He wanted to run like a deer in headlights towards the jumps. I love going to Power of Patient and working with Wendy. I like taking care of Origi—he is so nice and great to work with. Walking with Origi has been so calming, and I love spending time with him. I was so glad that Origi let me ride him at the farm; it felt so great to finally ride a horse. Wendy is so patient and taught me how to take care of Origi. I was very nervous in the beginning, but Wendy took the time to show me how to do everything step by step. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to get to know Origi and Wendy.
